What is the best value in family entertainment or recreation? My partners at Go Paddle 4FUN LLC and I were listening to the pre-game commentary about the Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati Ohio, when the announcer stated that the cost for a family of four attending a Cincinnati Reds game was around $136.00. This included tickets to the game, parking, food, drinks and the purchase of a souvenir. On hearing this, I created a cost comparison chart of what other recreational and entertainment opportunities in the Greater Cincinnati area might look like. I went to the Internet, made some calls, and came up with the following chart. All prices are based upon two adults and two children ages 10 to 17. The total price is based upon the advertised admission or fee without discounts or special group rates and includes parking, an estimate for food and drinks and other amenities as noted. The total price was rounded to the nearest dollar and does not include applicable taxes, tips and gratuities, or ticketing service fees and surcharges.
